Sustainable Development Goals

Abstract/Objectives

The overall objective of this project is to promote and localize the HERMMES program for K–12 education in Taiwan in order to enhance students’ healthy media literacy and digital media resilience. The specific objectives are as follows: To localize HERMMES curricula and resources by translating and culturally adapting the international HERMMES teaching materials in alignment with local culture, context, and educational policy. To establish a cultivation mechanism for attention self-regulation and digital media resilience through curriculum design and activities based on multilevel thinking (macro, meso, and micro), thereby strengthening students’ attention, critical thinking, and psychological adjustment abilities in digital environments. To develop in Taiwan a HERMMES network of partner schools, a HERMMES seed teacher training system, and a parent training system, providing primary and secondary school teachers and parents with concrete and feasible media education strategies and guidance tools. To establish interschool and international collaboration platforms and databases, promoting the exchange of experience and the sharing of resources in media literacy education between Taiwan and the EU HERMMES partner countries.
