Abstract/Objectives
Pteridophytes, ferns and lycophytes, contain the second largest lineage among land plants, but their biology is poorly understood compared to that of seed plants, a model organism concentrated lineage. An improved understanding of pteridophyte biology provides the key to uncovering mysteries behind the evolutionary history of plants. In this lecture, we are going to focus on several important biological issues that are much unique in pteridophytes by reading assigned textbook chapters and other scientific literature.
