Abstract/Objectives
In response to the recovery needs of Guangfu, Hualien, we mobilized a team of students and professors to provide hands-on assistance in tribal communities. Our mission focused on environmental restoration and the preservation of cultural spaces, allowing students to contribute directly to local rebuilding efforts and cultivate profound empathy through service.
Results/Contributions
We traveled to the disaster-stricken area of Guangfu, Hualien, to support professors with environmental restoration and reconstruction. Our tasks ranged from shoveling soil and rocks to cleaning and organizing books in writer He Ke’s library. By putting in the hard work, students contributed directly to the recovery efforts, giving back to the community while developing a deeper sense of service and social awareness.
