Abstract/Objectives
Zhongsong Community College, overseen by the Office of Academic Affairs at National Tsing Hua University, operates as a "Community Support Center" facilitating dialogue among the community, government, academia, and non-profits. It collaborates with education and private sector professionals to create curricula aligned with local visions and policies. The college is guided by principles such as civic participation and lifelong learning, with four main educational goals: promoting Zhongsong's value through museum methodologies, fostering regional revitalization, addressing community needs, and encouraging lifelong learning for self-development. The college aims to establish a learning organization that practices social responsibility, reflecting National Tsing Hua University's vision of nurturing individuals. It focuses on integrating higher education into community frameworks to support the innovative growth of Hsinchu's North, East, and Xiangshan districts while preserving local historical assets.
Results/Contributions

The Zhongsong Community College, managed by the Office of Academic Affairs at National Tsing Hua University, is centered around the concept of a "Community Support Center." It serves as a bridge for dialogue between the community, government, academia, and non-profit organizations. The college invites higher education and private sector professionals to design a curriculum aligned with the city's vision and governmental policies. Adhering to the principles of "civic participation," "knowledge liberation," "local creation," and "lifelong learning," the college has four main educational goals:

  1. Shape the value of Zhongsong through the museum method.
  2. Position the community support center to foster regional revitalization.
  3. Take responsibility for public affairs and address diverse community needs.
  4. Pursue lifelong learning as a pathway to self-realization.

The college aims to create a learning organization within the community and practice social responsibility, realizing the vision of National Tsing Hua University’s "One land nurtures one person." It strives to apply higher education resources to lifelong learning and embed them within the local community, supporting the innovative development of communities in Hsinchu's North, East, and Xiangshan districts, as well as preserving local historical assets.
