Abstract/Objectives
"We Care, We Share" is an educational initiative started in 2022 by Professor Huang Yun-Yin's team at National Tsing Hua University, designed to provide personalized English speaking practice for elementary students. Initially launched at Jianguo Elementary School in Hsinchu, the program has expanded to include other schools with support from local government and university partnerships. The project incorporates bilingual podcasts co-recorded by undergraduates, international students, and elementary students, addressing topics like growth and culture. Students engage in dialogue through scripted role-plays, enhancing their English speaking and listening skills in a natural setting. The team also shares educational content on social media to reinforce learning, promote classroom engagement, and facilitate parent-child interaction. In-class activities led by the team encourage creative learning through games and storytelling, ultimately culminating in recordings that improve vocabulary and language proficiency.
Results/Contributions

"We Care, We Share" is a professional educational service founded in 2022 by Professor Huang Yun-Yin’s team at National Tsing Hua University, aimed at providing customized English speaking practice for elementary school students. Initially implemented at Jian Gong Elementary School in Hsinchu, the service has expanded to other schools with support from the Hsinchu City Government and Tsing Hua University's USR-Hub.

The "We Care, We Share" bilingual podcast is co-produced by university students, international students, and Jian Gong Elementary School students, covering various topics such as growth, dreams, international culture, and parent-child interactions. Through script design and dialogue exchanges, children learn English in a natural setting, enhancing their speaking and listening skills. The program currently collaborates with two elementary schools: Jian Gong and Jiu She. Each recording session involves two to five students. University students engage children in open-ended discussions about school, food, weather, and other life topics, helping them learn practical English. For students with lower English proficiency, radio dramas are designed, allowing them to read scripts through role-playing.

After recording, the team posts related English learning content, including vocabulary, example sentences, and cultural introductions, on social media platforms, helping students review and extend their learning after class. This program not only supplements classroom learning but also enhances students’ learning outcomes and participation through interactive methods. Furthermore, the program promotes communication between parents and schools, strengthens parent-child learning, fosters community interaction, and increases the sustainability and enjoyment of language learning.
