Abstract/Objectives
Food literacy is the ability to "read the world" with food, thereby re-creating food and transforming ourselves. This course aims to convey the concept of food sustainability through design, and then to enhance the dietary literacy goals of dietary participants in a creative way. The teaching objectives of this course are as follows:
1. The ability to think critically about the impact of food chains and human eating behavior on a sustainable planet.
2. The ability to observe on the spot and grasp the information of diet, terroir and local food system.
3. Acquire design thinking and food design methods.
4. The ability to communicate sustainable eating concepts through food curation.
Results/Contributions
During the semester, students went to the Atayal tribe in Tai'an Township, Miaoli County to learn about Atayal food culture. And at the end of the semester, the sustainable diet wisdom of the Atayal people will be conveyed in the form of food curation.
