In an era of information "deluge," countless technological trends flare up like comets only to fade away. However, Industry 4.0 has demonstrated remarkable vitality. From its initial focus on production efficiency optimization to the generative AI wave spearheaded by ChatGPT, the progression of technology is constantly reshaping the boundary between the "physical" and the "virtual." This course serves as a guide to the impending transformation of our social structure. The core value of this course lies in its framework of "transitioning from broad theory to deep practical implementation." First, by examining the theories of Industry 4.0, I realized that the heart of this revolution is not mere automation, but rather "intelligence" and "interconnectivity." From a manufacturing perspective, Digital Twins and Big Data analytics are no longer just slogans; they are critical strategic instruments for ensuring industrial competitiveness. When we discuss the impact of ChatGPT, we are, in essence, redefining human-machine collaboration—machines are no longer just tools, but partners interwoven with human existence. On a practical level, the course showcased PLC (Programmable Logic Control) and foundational Deep Learning demonstrations. Through the precise control of PLCs, I experienced the stability of industrial underlying architectures. Witnessing an autonomous vehicle operate accurately under programmed commands provided the most intuitive manifestation of digital transformation—the moment virtual code translates into physical motion. Furthermore, the course delves into the "humanistic impact" of these technologies. As students of TsingHua, we must not only master leading-edge technologies but also contemplate the social responsibilities behind them. As the world chases this technological dream, we must ask ourselves: while pursuing efficiency and profit, how do we balance human harmony and common prosperity? Does technology widen social divides, or does it offer the possibility of social mobility? In conclusion, this course is an interdisciplinary integration. It allows us to overlook global competition from the height of economic strategy, practice innovation through the breadth of technological application, and reflect on the future through the depth of humanistic concern. In this era of the Internet of Everything (IoE), understanding Industry 4.0 is not merely about equipping oneself with career skills; it is about finding the position and value of being "human" amidst the torrent of technology.
