Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
This course is aimed to enhance students’ knowledge of the dynamics of engineering structures. Theoretical knowledge and analysis tools for analyzing the dynamic response of the structures are introduced in this course. The dynamics of the structures when excited by external forces and/or initial disturbance is studied in this course. Students are expected to gain the capability of analyzing these dynamics problems using analytical methods and numerical tools (such as METLAB).
Results/Contributions
Students are expected to gain the insight into the theoretical and numerical methods for analyzing the dynamics of engineering structures. Teaching methods include classroom instructions, homework assignments, examinations, and project presentations. In the project presentation, students are asked to study a dynamic problem (such as vibration analysis or vibration control) in a selected applied engineering area.
