Abstract/Objectives
To safeguard Taiwan's native ferns and biodiversity, 郭立園Assistant Professor of Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology establishing a sanctuary called Fern Community (蕨社) in the corner of the courtyard in the Life Science Building II. Apart from preserving the genetic diversity of Taiwanese ferns, it also serves as a natural retreat for individuals to relax amidst ferns. Fern Society enhances awareness of ferns, underscores the uniqueness of Taiwan's native ferns, and underscores the significance of biodiversity conservation. It fosters environmental consciousness, thus contributing to sustainable development.
Results/Contributions

As of the present moment, Fern Community has successfully planted around 200 native fern plants belonging to 50 distinct species. Our endeavor revolves around the ongoing expansion of the fern garden, with a targeted objective of cultivating 100 different species indigenous to Taiwan. The environment designated for the growth of ferns within Fern Community has been meticulously prepared, featuring the installation of plant grow lights and a comprehensive watering system. Our aspiration is to foster a nurturing and hospitable environment that optimally supports the flourishing of fern plants.
