Results/Contributions

Through the project, students considered how to transform the basic professional knowledge of special education into a "special education training course for organic farm workers" by professional service learning in special education.

(1) Conduct a needs analysis of the farm, and develop the physical and mental characteristics and basic behavioral skills that are suitable for people with physical and mental disabilities who work in organic agriculture.

(2) Develop a special education and knowledge training program to enable farm staff who wish to participate to understand, counsel, and evaluate and select suitable newcomers with physical and mental disabilities.

Based on practical work on the farm, develop initial and advanced special education professional development courses for participating staff to professionally support the quality of life and career development of this group of mentally and physically challenged individuals.
