Abstract/Objectives

Held annually by the library, the Book Exchange Event is dedicated to the circular use of books and resources sharing. Starting with a book collection, participants come from both on and off campus donate their books to the event and earn the equivalent number of points. These points can be redeemed later to exchange for books that were collected from the previous phase. The event consistently attracts eager book lovers who arrive early to secure their favorite books. The Book Exchange event not only encourages resource reuse but also provides participants a sense of fulfillment, making it a highly anticipated and beloved event.

Results/Contributions

More than 4,000 items were collected this year, including books and audiovisual materials, aiming to find new homes through resource sharing. The collection featured a wide variety of books, such as literature, foreign language books, fiction, lifestyle, and children's books, while also offering back issue periodicals for the public.

The event attracted more than 600 enthusiastic book lovers from both the students, faculty, staff and local residents. Some of them browsed the shelves, some carried stacks of books, and some even brought suitcases filled with books. This event not only facilitated the reuse of idle books but also contributed to the sustainable circulation of resources, allowing more people to access valuable books and further promoting knowledge sharing and sustainability.
