Abstract/Objectives
Teaching order and learning content of elementary mathematic and Mandarin textbooks have influence on studying mathematics for students with reading disabilities. Knowing their differences and making adjustments to textbook contents can improve this situation.
Results/Contributions

In this research, we use a word parsing tool, “CKIP Neural Chinese Word Segmentation,” to obtain word frequencies in mathematic textbooks. According to the parsing result, lots of mathematical high-frequency vocabularies are related to “weights and measures”. Therefore, we analyze "weights and measures” terminologies and put relevant suggestions for teachers and textbook authors as follows:

1.    Teachers should teach mathematical high-frequency vocabularies priority, especially "weights and measures” terminologies.

2.    While composing textbooks, the authors should select articles including mathematic terminologies in learning maps.

3.    Guidelines for special education teachers and literate teaching materials of “weights and measures” should be developed.
