Abstract/Objectives

The course examines the formation of dominant craft traditions in different historical periods and how these traditions influenced the stylistic expression of crafts made from other materials. Through the analysis and appreciation of representative works, students are visually trained to recognize the defining characteristics of the mainstream crafts of each era. The aim is to cultivate students’ interest in ancient art while providing a systematic understanding of the evolution of human craft technologies, as well as the development and cultivation of aesthetic sensibility.
