The purpose of this course is to help students understand the context of Russian historical development. I hope that through the course explanations, I can help students understand some of the characteristics of the development of Russian history, such as diversity, extremes, and the joyful and tragic life experiences of Russians throughout history. From this, we can understand the background power source of Russia’s rise. Another goal of this course is to train students to develop a broader, more comprehensive, and more tolerant way of thinking. Russia is a multicultural country. I hope that through the diversity of Russian history, students will realize that multiculturalism is difficult to maintain and cohere. Only mutual respect and interaction can coexist, thereby cultivating a spirit of tolerance and mutual respect.
