Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
In alignment with the student project–based learning framework of the experimental education program, this class designated the Hsinchu Old City District as a long-term learning and field research site and organized the "Hsinchu Old City Cultural Exploration" activity. Centered on Dongmen Market and the historical development of the old city, students designed bilingual, location-based experiential tour content, leading both partner-country youth and classmates on guided visits throughout the Hsinchu Old City area. Through on-site interpretation and interactive learning activities, participants were guided to understand Hsinchu’s urban development, local beliefs, and market culture, demonstrating the practical outcomes of experimental education that integrates local culture, international exchange, and sustainable learning.
Results/Contributions

This activity was based on students’ long-term project-based research within the experimental education program, using the Hsinchu Old City District as the primary research field. Through literature review, field investigation, and on-site observation, students examined Hsinchu’s urban development, local beliefs, and market culture, transforming their findings into bilingual guided tours and experiential learning content. Acting as primary guides, students led partner-country youth and classmates through key cultural sites, enabling participants to understand the historical evolution and contemporary transformation of the old city through interactive, place-based learning.
