To help students in Life Sciences and related fields realize that plants as autotrophic organisms are one of the primary sources of energy, materials, food, and medicine to sustain the ecosystem and human society. The course introduces the understanding of the intertwined regulatory networks of plant responses at the molecular level and plants’ interactions with environment during plant growth and development as well as the interdependence of the relationships between them. Students acquire not only the professional knowledge of plant physiology that can be applied to sustainable agriculture and other industries but also the core value of cherishing plant life.
