Abstract/Objectives
The Library regularly evaluates the performance of public computers and updates them to ensure a high level of equipment availability and to provide quality information services. In order to extend or start a new life cycle of the replaced computers, the Library participates in the ASUS Foundation's "The Second Life for Computers Project". The obsolete computers are refurbished and provided to disadvantaged groups in order to promote and implement energy conservation and eliminate the digital gap.
Results/Contributions
From 2020 to 2022, the Library donated 213 computers to ASUS Foundation to help reduce pollution and protect the environment through the participation of the "The Second Life for Computers Project". The refurbished computers were donated to non-profit organizations, school computer classrooms and digital learning centers to help disadvantaged children, young students, women, silver-haired and physically challenged people to learn computer courses, provide digital learning opportunities and enhance digital capabilities to reduce the digital gap and improve their lives.
