Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
It is widely known that the world has transitioned into an era of service economy. "Service" has existed in human society long before the industrial classification of the so-called "service industry." But what exactly is "service"? And what about the so-called "Service Science" advocated by IBM in 2004, or later expanded to include Engineering and Management, collectively known as "Service Science, Management, and Engineering" (SSME)? In recent years, Design has been added to the original SSME, resulting in the commonly used term "SSMED" to describe Service Science. What are its connotations and substantive content? What are the scope and issues of Service Science? How does Service Science relate to existing academic and practical fields? How can the theories of Service Science be applied in practice? How can practical issues and needs become research content and contributions of Service Science? The curriculum of this course is designed to satisfy everyone's curiosity about Service Science. At the same time, it is hoped that students can boldly explore this new field and become a vital force in the academic and practical community of Service Science development.
