The project "Exploring Hsinchu: A Foreign Perspective - A Prototype" primarily targeted international students, designing a walking tour focused on exploring Hsinchu's Hakka culture. This trial aimed to collect data to understand market demand and explore possibilities for sustainable local revitalization. The project was divided into two phases: "Training and Learning" and "Practical Design," lasting five months. Through English-guided tours, participants were introduced to Hukou Hakka Cultural and Creative Park and Xinwawu Hakka Cultural Preservation Zone, experiencing Hakka culture through hands-on activities like mochi-making to enhance cultural understanding and exchange.
During the Training and Learning phase, the team participated in Like it Formosa and "Inside Taiwan" training courses to learn English-guided tours, route design, and how to use tools like maps and headphones to enrich the participant experience. The Practical Design phase involved site scouting, itinerary planning, and collaboration with mentors and venue representatives to ensure quality and interactivity. Throughout the project, the team used Notion for collaboration and held weekly meetings, planning routes around the three themes of “New Local Life,” “Historical Sites,” and “Ethnic Culture,” while documenting activities and site reports for future reference.
