Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
Founded in 1990, the Little Ding-Dong Science Theme Park in Hsinchu County is an outdoor amusement park centered on science education. Initially conceived to create an outdoor amusement park themed around science education, the park aimed to contribute significantly to the foundation of science education in Taiwan. The Research Center for Technology and Art embraces the spirit of USR by serving the local community, aiming to organize various teacher training sessions, science theatre, and designing a mobile science exhibition using a bus to display the “STEM with A” concept and tangible artworks to serve rural areas. By actively collaborating with the Little Ding-Dong Science Theme Park, the initiative extends “STEM with A” education from Sha-keng Elementary School to the Little Ding-Dong Park, making science education more interesting and integrating science with arts to create a superior and more enjoyable learning environment.
Results/Contributions

1. “STEM with A Mobile Science Exhibition”

Bus copies our past developed interactive works, including the ϕ Golden Ratio in Rotation, Lubricating Magic Clap, and others to the Little Ding-Dong Science Theme Park. We plan to use four decommissioned buses, setting them up as 'Science is Big Deal', 'Technology is Sharp Blade', 'Engineer is Rise to the Challenge', and 'Math is Never Give Up' interactive exploration buses, to be placed in the Little Ding-Dong Science Theme Park. Initially, we will rent 'Puncar' vehicles to implement the 'STEM with A Mobile Science Exhibition' Bus project.

2. “Elephant Toothpaste—Science Experiment Theater Training and Development”

Elephant toothpaste is a chemical experiment named for the rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, which produces a large amount of bubbles. At the Little Ding-Dong Park’s Science Experiment Theater, we have redeveloped the 'Elephant Toothpaste—Science Experiment Theater' rich in scientific principles and dental health awareness. By featuring a comical giant toothpaste eruption, a doctor using a giant toothbrush to brush an elephant's teeth, and humorous dialogue among three characters, we aim to inspire children to eagerly brush their teeth daily after watching the show.

3. "Hosting 'STEAM Seed Teachers Workshop'”

In recent years, we have established 'STEAM 123 Guided Teaching' to encourage students to be curious Tinkers who love hands-on activities, Explorers who delve into interdisciplinary principles, and Makers who transform creativity into practical creations. To align the Little Ding-Dong Science Theme Park with international STEAM education, we actively train its teachers to become STEAM seed teachers, guiding projects like the hilarious creative version of 'Toothbrush Robot' and the magical 'Levitating Cube' series. This initiative positions Little Ding-Dong as a practitioner of innovative 'STEM with A' education in the future.
