Abstract/Objectives
This course focuses on commonly used statistical methods in the social sciences, including confidence interval,
hypothesis testing, analysis of variance (ANOVA), linear regressions, and logistic regressions. The purpose is to enable students to understand the concepts of these statistical methods. In addition, a demonstration with R or Excel will be provided so that students can further master the application of these methods.
Results/Contributions
The basic concepts of statistics are introduced in the beginning, including probability, estimation, and hypothesis testing. The continuing concepts include regression-related data analyses. Eventually, students are guided to complete a final report of a data set.
