Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
Health is the key element of active ageing. The way to maintain good health or promote healthy ageing depends on personal behavior in which retirement is a turning point of personal behavior and habit change during a person’s life. Thus, the intervention of the before and after retirement life phases could bring positive impacts on a person’s physical and mental conditions.
What’s the situation of ageing and health in Hsinchu? How can we spread the health awareness in an innovative and practical way? The following goals are our project's responses to these questions:
1. Cultivate talents in health ageing promotion.
2. Integrate related local resources and socialize different generations.
3. Form an innovative health ageing promotion service system and enhance it year by year.
Through the exploration of users' needs which provide valuable insights, we then redesign users' behavior using scientific measurement and evaluation. This project will manage to engage participants more efficiently and exercise interventions actively. In addition, we integrate academic organizations' resources along with government units', providing cross-generational activities regarding health promotion in order to inspire and motivate the elderly to do physical exercises. Eventually, this project will contribute to the establishment of the healthy ageing service ecosystem and creating a new proposal for healthy ageing life.
Results/Contributions
Our project focuses on service science and scientific health promotion. The outcomes and progress of each subproject are as follows:
- Service and co-creation lab: through participation in the courses of “precision exercise” subproject conduct user research and analysis as well as provide insight report to other subprojects. What is more, the lab provides opportunities such as consultations and internships for students.
- Precision exercise: design and run 12-weeks multi-training courses with scientific measurement. There has already been the third edition of this course and so the research team gradually develops a training module.
Research and development of Device: the IoT lab develops adaptable monitor and optimizes the process of physical fitness measurement. Moreover, the team conducts research into image recognition in order to keep training movements of the elderly safe and proper.
