This course leaded students to the field of old downtown area of Hsinchu City, understanding the “City Lens” and the “Khuimng Studio,” which founded by NTHU alumni. The City Lens locates in Chan-An St., which publish the local magazine, “The Meatball Soup,” and promoting local culture of Hsinchu City by events, products, and design. The Khuimng Studio located in Dongmen Market, which collaborated with Hsinchu City Government to founded the Dongmen Youth Hub, revitalizing the declined market by promoting youth entrepreneurship and social innovation.
Students could understand the issues in the old city downtown area during the classes, and defining problem awareness; learning the focus conversation method with ORID phases to analyze the field data; learning the systematic perspective of service science to analyze the network structure in the field; and propose their individual learning plan to response the real issues in the field.
