Abstract/Objectives
This course is a compulsory course for the first year of the Department of Early Childhood Education. The curriculum structure starts from the introduction of research methods of early childhood development, leading students to understand the development characteristics of individuals from infant to early childhood, the factors affecting development, and think about how to apply development theories to early childhood education. The developmental aspects discussed in the course include brain development, body movement development, perceptual development, cognitive development, language development, and social-emotional development. The last two weeks of this course will arrange for students to design and lead parent-child activities at the Parent-Child Hall in the East District of Hsinchu City, and publish the results.
Results/Contributions

Through the theoretical and practical knowledge provided by this course, the following teaching effects will be achieved.

Cognition: improve students' understanding of the growth process and theoretical knowledge of children aged 0 to 6.

Affection: enhance students' understanding of parents' needs for parenting.

Skills: Students use development theories to design age-appropriate activities.
