1. Linking Teaching Practice: Dual Learning Inside and Outside the Classroom
This program is dedicated to promoting the connection between educational professional knowledge and teaching practice, and forming the "Teaching Practice Linkage Support Program." For the 112 academic year, the applicable courses include pre-service education professional courses across various teacher training disciplines, with a total of 76 courses included in the program . It collaborates with 49 partner schools in regions such as Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli, connecting nearly 200 teaching practice professionals, and has organized over 114 collaborative teaching sessions and 87 observation classes. A new database for teaching practice professionals has been created, gathering information on 52 entries.
Through systematic guidance, instructors strive to help teacher trainees bring classroom theories into real teaching environments. They achieve this through observation, participation, discussion, and reflection, thereby combining theory and practice. One student participating in the "Teaching Materials and Methods of Natural Science in Elementary School" course stated: "What impressed me greatly was how the teacher cleverly used noodles to replace traditional litmus paper. This was completely different from the usual experimental methods, and by using everyday ingredients, we could help students understand the principles of the experiment in a more vivid way. This teaching method is truly amazing." Another student who observed a class shared: "This observation experience was very special; there was much more hands-on activity by the students, with the teacher assisting them and guiding them to gain knowledge. Through experiments, observations, and Q&A discussions between teachers and students, it sparked my imagination and design ideas for future teaching." Such feedback is abundant, demonstrating that the learning approach of connecting teaching practice indeed helps teacher trainees gain a deeper understanding of future teaching methods and the role of teachers.
2. New Curriculum Standards and Digital Literacy: Embracing the Future of Education
In response to the demands of future education, the program not only makes breakthroughs in teaching practice but also actively promotes the integration of major educational issues into pre-service teacher education courses, enhancing the digital teaching capabilities of teacher trainees to cultivate future-ready teacher talent. Starting from the second semester of the 112 academic year, 38 courses have incorporated more than 20 significant educational topics, including digital teaching, indigenous education, international education, and special education into their teaching content, allowing teacher trainees to keep pace with the trends in global education while learning professional knowledge in education.
The implementation of the "Teaching Practice Linkage Support Program" relies on the careful arrangement and guidance of instructors teaching the 76 courses, as well as support and assistance from various teaching environments. It is believed that these efforts throughout this process can help teacher trainees see the teaching context from a more comprehensive perspective and lay a more solid foundation for their future educational paths.
