Sustainable Development Goals

Abstract/Objectives

Through the collaborative efforts of VisEra Technologies, the Interdisciplinary Program of Humanities and Social Sciences at National Tsing Hua University, the Regional Innovation Center, the USR (University Social Responsibility) team, and various civil society organizations, existing walking routes in towns and villages across Hsinchu will be integrated with local literary and historical content. Through the practice of cultural and historical reinterpretation, the project will develop AR and location-based games, while also partnering with local small-scale farmers to create a green tourism brand titled “Hsinchu Literary Walk.”

Results/Contributions

1. This project creates a cross-unit collaborative platform model, connecting local concept teams, businesses in Hsinchu Science Park, and students and faculty from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at National Tsing Hua University.

2. This project serves as a space for students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to engage in cultural and historical translation. In the first phase, ten students conducted research and field surveys on five routes: Old City, Nanpu, Emei, Matou, and Donghai Cave, transforming this data into inspiration for AR/real-world game design and completing the game design.

3. This project becomes a module for social practice courses. Unlike the workshop format of the first phase, the second phase, "Hsinchu Literary Walk," is conducted as a credit-bearing course, attempting to integrate social practice into the curriculum for greater impact.

This project explores various possibilities for integrating University Social Responsibility (USR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. After the faculty-student team collaborates with local organizations to complete the design, employees from Caiyu Technology are invited to experience the guided tours and real-world games. For Caiyu Technology, this project aligns with ESG and corporate sustainability goals; for Tsing Hua University, it enables the continuous innovation and influence of USR.
