Through the dual perspectives of the translator and the reader, at least three methods of reading are demonstrated: reading simply as an appreciation of literature, reading with a subjective consciousness (Who am I? And who is Vietnam?), and reading with Vietnam as a reference point for Taiwan (similar to how Taiwan often uses Western, European, American, or Japanese contexts as references)
