Abstract/Objectives

This course introduces the different cases of legal History of China. We will discuss topics of lawbook, magistrate, and legal culture etc. This course will enhance students’ historical thinking.

Results/Contributions

Through cases related to daily life, students gain an understanding of how modern and ancient laws handle these situations. They then immerse themselves in historical contexts, considering each case from both universal legal principles and the unique circumstances of different eras. This exercise trains them to enhance their historical thinking, moving beyond linear comparisons of the past and present.
