Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract/Objectives
This course focuses on progress and challenges of energy technology from a materials science approach. It begins with introduction to renewable and sustainable energy and moves forward to discuss the principles of several energy devices, including energy storage, energy transformation, and energy harvesting devices. It then describes the roles of materials science on the performance of those devices. The course will include a group project where students make use of their learning in class and their creativity to propose an original idea to improve some aspects of energy technologies.
