Abstract/Objectives
NTHU Green Pine Community College hosted an Elementary and Middle School Teacher Development Camp on the topic of “Baoshan Seconnd Reservoir: Where Does Water Come From? Where does it go? The theme of the camp was “Baoshan Second Reservoir: Where does the water come from and where does it go?”, in which teachers visited the Baoshan Second Reservoir and learned about the reason for its construction, which was mainly due to the insufficient supply of water from the original reservoir, and therefore a second reservoir was built to provide water for people's livelihoods and industries. The activity mainly aimed to let primary and secondary school teachers understand where the water from the reservoir comes from and what it is used for. At the same time, it also helped participants to understand that the construction of reservoirs is time-consuming and costly, and that it is important to cherish the life of the reservoirs as well as the importance of saving water in daily life.
Results/Contributions

NTHU Green Pine Community College organized a “Professional Development Camp for Elementary and Middle School Teachers” with the theme “Baoshan Second Reservoir: Where Does the Water Come From and Where Does It Go?” The camp included a field visit to Baoshan Second Reservoir, providing teachers with a thorough understanding of the reservoir's construction background. Due to insufficient water supply from the original Baoshan Reservoir, especially in meeting local residents' daily and industrial water needs, the government decided to build Baoshan Second Reservoir to ensure a stable water supply and address the growing demands for residential and industrial water.

The main purpose of this activity was to help teachers understand the source of the reservoir’s water and its primary uses. Participants also learned about the significant time, resources, and funds required to construct a reservoir, underscoring the importance of preserving the reservoir’s longevity and the necessity of water conservation in daily life. Through this visit, teachers gained not only a better understanding of the value of water resources but also strengthened their awareness of the need for water conservation, enabling them to pass on this knowledge to their students. The event emphasized the precious nature of water resources, allowing participants to appreciate the importance of preserving reservoir lifespan and promoting sustainable water usage.
