The outcomes of this teaching practical research project are as follows: The courses affiliated with the project were offered in the first semester of the 111th academic year (16-week course), and an academic workshop was held in the second semester, where students enrolled in the course presented their learning outcomes, with two invited expert scholars delivering keynote speeches. The "East Asian Classics Topic" is a vast and complex academic discipline that encompasses various fields such as bibliography, history, Confucian studies, literature, and philosophical thought. Even when narrowed down to the study of "East Asian interpretations of the Analects," it still includes classical texts from China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Although these texts are focused on interpreting and elaborating on the chapters of the Analects, based on the concept of "contextual transformation" proposed by Mr. Huang Junjie, each classical text detached from its original historical context in China, when read and understood by scholars from other countries in foreign lands, has already shifted away from its original contextual background. Instead, it transitions into the historical culture and contextual framework of the scholars from those other countries. Therefore, while they are also interpreting the Analects text, they carry with them their own historical backgrounds and issues of concern. Hence, to effectively and accurately interpret the characteristics of interpretations of the Analects by foreign scholars, a considerable familiarity with China's own interpretive traditions is required as a reference point, as well as an empathetic understanding of the scholarly concerns of foreign academics. This allows for a more accurate grasp of the interpretations. Consequently, this poses a significant challenge for the teaching faculty. In other words, the teachers must continuously enrich their own academic knowledge to comprehensively appreciate the profound connotations of East Asian studies of the Analects, enabling them to guide students in exploring the richness and forward-thinking nature of this academic research field.

Abstract/Objectives
Confucianism is one of the cultural core in East Asia and the classic The Analects is definitely that every educated person should have read. This project aims to expand students’ view in East Asia to an international perspective by focusing on the Collections of Texts from the Four Books (Sishu Jizhu) and extending to other scholars’ interpretations in the past dynasties of China, Korea and Japan. Through Quality Talk approach, with group discussion and cooperation, graduate students’ high-level comprehension and independent learning ability will be deepened. And finally, the lecturer and the students are able to achieve the goal of knowledge innovation together.
