This lecture discusses three aspects: "Mulberry Tree Cultivation and Landscape and Environmental Changes," "Silkworm Rearing and Medicine," and "The Outbreak of Global Silkworm Disease in the Mid-19th Century and the Establishment of Modern Sericulture." It systematically reviews silk and mulberry literature such as "Agricultural Books," "Essentials of Agriculture and Sericulture," and "Treatise on Sericulture in the Western Wu," integrating thoughts on the rearing conditions of silkworms, treatment and prevention of silkworm diseases, and the interrelationship between mulberry cultivation and geographical environment.
In the end, students were active in asking questions and engaging in lively discussions, supplementing knowledge and skills related to domesticated silkworm cultivation, which also sparked curiosity and interest in exploring the interconnections between different fields.
