In order to promote the sustainable development of the campus and to enhance the efficiency of energy use, National Tsing Hua University has formulated the following energy policy in accordance with the governmental agencies and the university's Electricity Efficiency Management Program, and will continue to review and improve it, aiming to ensure the effective implementation, systematic promotion, and continuous improvement of the energy management measures, in order to achieve the goals of energy saving, carbon reduction, and sustainable development.

Enhancing Campus Electricity Consumption Efficiency and Reducing Energy Costs

1. The University will regularly review the annual electricity consumption and Energy Use Indicator (EUI) values to ensure that the various campus operations are flourishing while realizing the efficient use of electricity.
2. We will continue to promote the following measures to enhance the overall efficiency of electricity consumption on campus:

• Replacement of old equipment, including lighting, air-conditioning and other energy-consuming equipment.
• Strengthening energy monitoring and management to accurately track campus electricity consumption.
• Promote energy saving and carbon reduction initiatives to raise awareness of environmental protection within and outside the campus.
• Gradually reduce the cost of energy use on campus and promote the construction of a green campus.

Setting up an energy-saving promotion mechanism

1. Set up an energy conservation promotion team and assign a dedicated energy manager to each unit to monitor and promote energy conservation measures.
2. An energy conservation promotion meeting will be held once every six months to coordinate the energy conservation work of all units on campus, review the energy conservation measures implemented and their effectiveness, and set specific targets.
3. The results of the meeting and related information will be compiled and uploaded to the Energy Conservation Reporting Website for monitoring and improvement.

Promoting the use of renewable energy

1. In order to realize the sustainable development of the campus, the University will continue to promote the installation of solar photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of campus buildings to promote the use of renewable energy and reduce the reliance on traditional energy sources.
2. Through the installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems, the energy efficiency of buildings will be enhanced, further realizing the goal of low-carbon transformation of the campus.
